The 33nd PISTOIA-ABETONE (Tuscany-Italy), one of the world's oldest
Km. (31 miles) and the hardest european road race from Pistoia
(evocative medieval town near Florence) to Abetone, famous skiing
village, is programmed on june, 28th, 2009, start 7:20 a.m.
PISTOIA-ABETONE is the most important slope ultramarathon and was run
for the first time in 1976. Long more than a marathon, strong more
one-hundred km. "classic" marathon, for athletes is a dream, a crazy
comparison with themselves. The PISTOIA-ABETONE ultramarathon is a challenge shooting at human possibility along 50 Km. (31 miles). Only 3 miles plain and then slope and downhill road from marvellous Pistoia
Duomo place, through "Piastre" slope, "Reno" valley and then, finally, a 17 Km. slope to Abetone "Pyramides", for those who can succeed in arriving. In 2009 for the first 50 foreign (not italian) runners the
enter is free (gratis), a great opportunity to enjoy a wonderfull and terrible race !!! TRY IT !!!
