\nAn innovative and unique Ultra Trail!
\nThe Grand Trail des Lacs et Ch\u00e2teaux had been selected to organize the 2023 Belgian short and long trail championships.
\nThe GT85, innovative with a UTMB Index of 100K. Very varied, this trail is a true ultra cross nature which will make you discover a magnificent region, at the gates of the Hautes Fagnes nature reserve, a true country of lakes and castles, enhanced by forests very aptly called the Blue Ardennes.
\nThe GT85, the unit of measurement of resistance to effort, perfectly symbolizes this trail whose proposed route is full of difficulties with a difference in altitude of approximately 3083 D+. A magnificent route which takes trailers through nature reserves, trails comparable to those found in the mountains of France, and thus allows them to discover the splendid wild corners of the region of Robertville, Malmedy, Stavelot, Xhoffraix. Like the terrible Warche valley, with its ridge route, the Reinhardstein castle, and more… Varied in every sense of the word, fun and full-bodied.<\/p>\n
A quality course with very little asphalt and a lot of trails in the undergrowth, a route that is often very technical.

\nRunning a marathon is already a particularly difficult event.
\nThe Grand Trail des Lacs et Ch\u00e2teaux had been selected to organize the 2023 Belgian short and long trail championships.
\nThe GT42, innovative with its UTMB index 50K, was selected to represent the most competitive race on the short Trail version.<\/p>\n
But what about the GT 42 to which we add more than 1592m of altitude difference? A maratrail on technical terrain, through the Warche valley. This is pure madness. A treat just like the other places crossed such as the Robertville lake, the old oak tree, and other enchanting places like the Reinhdardstein castle, the ridge route, Napoleon’s nose…<\/p>\n
Alternation between technical passages, single tracks, rolling passages, climbs and descents.<\/p>\n
Only runners in a club recognized by the Belgian Athletics Federation will be able to compete for the various titles at stake and thus qualify for the world championships.
