A previous article on split times on the Around Texel 120K is from 12 years ago: http:\/\/www.ultraned.org\/n_item\/f2540.php So it is time for an update; see the table below. Listed are the split times of the first three men plus the split times of all the women that officially finished. Note that in 2005 a cut off of 13 hours was introduced, for both men and women. During the first edition in 1993, no halfway times were recorded.<\/p>\n
In the past the front runners generally did the first round in about 4 hours 45 minutes or more, but in the last three editions 2011 \u2013 2013 \u2013 2015 the front runner was faster: 4.29 \u2013 4.35 \u2013 4.27. The Scottish runner Paul Giblin nearly broke the course record last year but stranded within one minute. So the course record of Dirk Westerduin from 1997 still stands and he is the only male front runner with a negative split (- 5 minutes). The woman course record by Anke Drescher from 1999 (with a split of only 7 minutes) was broken last year by both L\u00e9onie van den Haak and Mildred Haans. L\u00e9onie performed an amazing race, with a relaxed first round she increased her pace in the second round and had a negative split of 9 minutes.
