backyard ultra: Legends Backyard Ultra Kasterlee

Backyard Ultra is a last-one-standing event where participants run a loop of 6,7056 km every hour. The race is a creation of Lazarus Lake, race director of the Barkley Marathons and has now made its way to Belgium!
After not only winning last year’s world championship, but also breaking the world record, we are pleased to announce the second edition of the Legends Backyard Ultra. Curious to find out how many loops you can run on the same course as the world champions? Register now!

When?

The first bell will ring on June 11 2021 at 14h.

The race registration will open on June 11 2021 at 11h.

Where?

The Legends Backyard Ultra will take place at De Hoge Rielen in Kasterlee, Belgium:

The starting corral and campsite are located at Camp 8. Please keep in mind that the domain itself is not accessible by car. The nearest parking is Poort Noord (800m from the campsite). From there participants will have to walk or cycle to the campsite.

Who?

The maximum number of participants for this race is 100 participants.

There are no qualifications for this race. During the event, each runner is allowed to have one crew member present at the site. Crew members are allowed to switch during the event. Supporters are not allowed before, during or after the event.

Accommodation

Participants can set up a tent on the camping ground and are expected to bring their own gear. Showers and toilets are present at the camping ground.

Registration fee

The registration fee is €99. No reimbursement in case of cancellation.

A bar will open 24/7 on the campsite where other beverages can be purchased. Crewmembers can purchase a day pass for warm meals for €20.

If you have preferences for other foods or drinks, you should bring these yourself.

COVID-19 Measures

Face masks are mandatory on the campsite and in the starting corral. A distance of 1,5m must be kept in the starting corral as well as between tents.
