backyard variant: LDHD/LDDD 2024 (6E ÉDITION) Dernier Homme Debout

23/03/2024 @ 12:00 - 24/03/2024 @ 12:00 UTC+0

LDHD/LDDD 2024 (6TH EDITION) | MARCH 23 – 24, 2024
“RUN, EAT, DRINK, REPEAT”.
That’s a bit like the concept of The Last Man Standing. “Run, eat, drink and go again”.
A concept that allows everyone to push their limits and experience the effort of (very) long distance. An extraordinary atmosphere, collective emulation and a race format that pushes everyone much further than they had imagined.

In 2018, 279 runners took on this new concept. 18 hours and 131 kilometers later, only one remained, Eric Brossard who will forever remain the first Last Man Standing.
In 2019, 375 runners took the start of the 2nd edition. There was only one left at 7 a.m. the next day, Paul Meurisse. After 20 hours of racing, 146 kilometers and 5720D+.
In 2021, 209 starters and a record: three riders in the last lap, three finishers but only one winner. Matthieu Tharion who completes 175 kilometers and 6840D+ in 24 hours and who wins again in 2022 in a final crazy lap, facing 4 brave opponents.
In 2023, it was Jean Blancheteau, a reference in the DHD format, who proved the most resistant and tamed the 24 loops after a cold and wet night. Apocalyptic conditions which made the course even more demanding.
Among the ladies, Séverine Vandermeulen won twice by establishing a new women’s record in the format by finishing 15 loops on time.

In 2024, as is the original concept of offering a new loop once a runner has completed the 24 hours, the DHD organization will offer you an even more selective loop…

This year again, the race is open to teams of 2 and 3 for a unique experience sharing!
Enough to taste the unique atmosphere of a weekend entirely dedicated to surpassing oneself…”

The concept
Each loop is 7 km 380 and 286D+
The maximum time allowed for a loop is 60 minutes
Any rider who has not crossed the line after 60 minutes is eliminated
Each loop starts on the dot. Example: a runner who completes a loop in 45 minutes will only be allowed to start on the next one exactly on the next hour (not before). He will therefore have to wait in the neutral refueling zone. Once the hour has passed, the runner is free to start the next loop whenever they wish.
Assistance (in the refueling zone) is authorized from the start of the loop at 9 p.m.
Assistance (on the course) is authorized from the start of the loop at 9 p.m.
To be declared the winner, a runner must complete a final loop alone (in less than 60 minutes)
If after 11 p.m. (and 23 laps) several riders are still in the race, it is the one who first crosses the finish line of the 24th lap who will be declared the winner. In the event of arrival hand in hand, no one will be declared Last Man or Last Lady Standing.
