An innovative and unique Ultra Trail!
The GT85, innovative with a UTMB Index of 100K. This highly varied ultra cross-country trail will take you through a magnificent region, at the gateway to the Hautes Fagnes nature reserve, a land of lakes and castles, sublimated by forests aptly named Ardenne Bleue.
The GT85, the unit for measuring resistance to effort, is the perfect symbol for this trail, whose route is full of difficulties, with a vertical drop of around 3308 D+. A magnificent route that takes trailers through nature reserves, along paths comparable to those found in the mountains of France, and allows them to discover the splendid wild corners of the Robertville, Malmedy, Stavelot, Xhoffraix region. Like the dreaded Warche valley, with its route des crêtes, Reinhardstein castle and more… Varied in every sense of the word, playful and full-bodied.

A quality course with very little asphalt and lots of trails in the undergrowth, often very technical.

Running a marathon is already a particularly difficult ordeal.
The Grand Trail des Lacs et Châteaux was selected to host the 2023 Belgian short and long trail championships.
The GT42, with its innovative UTMB index 50K, was selected to represent the most hotly contested short trail race.

But what about the GT 42, to which we add over 1592m of ascent? A maratrail on technical terrain, through the Warche valley. Pure madness. It’s a delight, as are the other places you’ll cross, such as Robertville lake, the old oak tree, and other enchanting places like Reinhdardstein castle, the route des crêtes, Napoleon’s nose…

Alternating technical sections, single tracks, rolling sections, climbs and descents.
