trail: Trail La THarée 50 km
The concept of “stop or go?”
Our route planners have designed a course of approximately fifty kilometers in which they have placed 5 forks. This means that there are 5 possible distances.
After confirming your registration, you’ll set off (gently or not) on this mega-trail. 14.4km after your departure, you’ll see the first sign appear (rather wildly, as we are, after all, out in the wilderness). This sign offers you two routes:
The return (“Stop”) which also tells you the total number of km that this loop contains (Spoiler: 15 km and a bit for the first one).
The adventure (“Again”) invites you to continue your journey to the next sign. This sign, however, will not tell you the number of kilometers of the remaining routes.
You will therefore have to make a choice that will impact the total distance you will travel in the High Ardennes.
The more daring you are, the more adventure you’ll choose, and the more signs you’ll encounter. Always keep in mind that the more signs you see, the longer your return journey will be when you decide to “stop”.
I like the concept, but what about the timer?
The initial idea was to let you enjoy nature and not influence you with the idea of beating a time or setting a record. You are free to ignore the allure of the clock: let your physical condition dictate your route, fully experience the race, and resist the temptation to turn back early as often as possible. However, to ensure everyone has a fair experience, electronic timing will be used, with a staggered start at 9:00 AM and 9:15 AM at the foot of the church in Rettigny. Your group will be assigned based on your arrival time. If you wish to run as a group, please arrive at the bib collection point together, as the first 500 finishers will start at 9:00 AM sharp, and the next 500 at 9:15 AM.
The results will be available in your runner area (link sent after your registration) and on BeTrail.
So, are you convinced? Shall we sign up?
A trail run with values
The THArée trail is a trail race that aims to be eco-responsible!
Held in the heart of the Deux-Ourthes Natural Park, the THArée trail race crosses exceptional natural areas. For Team THArés, it’s important to allow everyone to discover the region they love so much, while ensuring its preservation. To this end, the number of participants is limited each year, and the trail route is designed to be zero-waste. Consider traveling to our location with others—it’s always more fun!
