Hier is een verslag van het Senda Real, een ultra test-editie die volgende jaar kan wel gelopen geworden. Graag excuses voor het Engels, maar mijn nederlands gaat niet zo ver als de hele verslag naar Nederlands vertalen.{ei}
Last Saturday http://www.CorreryTirar.com organised a test edition trail run along the old track connecting Madrid’s former royal sites such as old Alcázar of Habsburg and Sabatini gardens with El Pardo, the hunting woodlands and Manzanares el Real Castle. From Principe Pio Railway Stn. (almost 15 celsius at the start) 12 runners would go along the 48km-non competitive trail, marked as GR 124 track. After 7 hours, Manzanares was at sight for the 7 ultrarunners who completed the course.
A 90% dirt-track hilly course was tested through beautiful Monte del Pardo, Tres Cantos new town, openfields at Colmenar Viejo, some streams crossed between km 26 and 33, and part of Regional Park of Manzanares. It is pure nature right from Spanish major urban area.
The test can be considered as positive to host a 2004 ultra race. It is feasible for a limited number or entries. Some changes can be done in the dates due to multiple spring events all across Europe.
