Race report from Gravigny after twenty-two hours

During the night I was not able to communicate, so I spend my time with walking along the loop, had a four hour sleep in my car, and several talks with team managers. A new day, a new view. Jens Lukas is in the lead. He doesn’t show the same as tonight but he is still looking fine compared to the others. The French have many runners in the top of the list, so it seems they will get the team result in front of Russia. Italy is shifted backwards in the men’s team result list. Jens Lukas will probably exceed the 265K, which makes him a good European champion along other previous winners. Edith Berces is doing fine as well. Probably not 240K, but over 235K will be the case for her if noting special happens. Only two hours to go, but in ultramarathon running you never can tell. On paper or the keyboard of my machine it is easy to tell. The runners have to do the real work, which is something completely different.
