The MUT Council of USA Track & Field uses the following procedures to select six men and six women to represent the USA at the 100K World Challenge in Torhout, Belgium on June, 21, 2002.
MEN The first two American men from the 2001 World 100K are automatically named to the team. The remaining men’s team selection is based on past competitive performances and recent form.
WOMEN Women’s’ team selection is based on 100K performances under 8:50, 50 mile performances under 6:50, or other significant ultra performances between the period of January 1, 2001 and February 16th, 2002, and recent form.
All selected athletes and alternates will be notified on or before March 1, 2002 with an official team announcement to follow.
