Monica Cassiraghi wins the IAU European Championship 100K after a real thriller !
Leading comfortably with more than 10K to go she has to sprint to defend her title against a very strong ending Birgit Schoenherr-Hoelscher who ran 5 minutes faster in the last 10K. Only 3 seconds separated the two top champions. Less than 3 minutes later, Susan Bruce (GBR) finished as 3rd.

Oleg Kharitonov is the new European Champion finishing in 6:30:32
Mario Ardemagni (Ita) lost still 10 minutes in the last 20K, finishing in 6:40:39.
The third man on the podium is Pascal Fetizon (Fra) who finished in 6:50:27
Bula (BLR) became fourth in 6:52:45
